Privacy policy
Effective 8 September 2026
1. What this covers
This policy explains what Zuhanden LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("Zuhanden", "we", "us"), collects when you use our websites, apps, and related services (the "services"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Zuhanden is the controller of the personal data described here.
2. What we collect
Things you give us
- Account details. Your name, email address, and password or sign-in provider, plus any settings you choose.
- Your content. Text, files, images, prompts, and anything else you put into the services, and the results the services create for you.
- Payment details. If you buy a plan, our payment processor or app store collects your payment information. We receive confirmation of the purchase and limited details such as the last digits of a card, not the full card number.
- Messages to us. Anything you send to support or through a feedback form, including the email you give on our waiting list.
Things collected automatically
- Usage. Which features you use, when, and how often, and errors that occur.
- Device and connection. Device type, operating system, app version, browser, language, IP address, and approximate location derived from it.
- Cookies and similar. We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies or local storage entries to keep you signed in and remember preferences. We do not use advertising cookies.
3. How we use it
- to provide the services, including generating results from your content
- to personalise the services for you, such as remembering your preferences, style, and past work within your account
- to train and improve our models and agents, only if you have turned that on (see section 4)
- to keep your work and your account safe, and to prevent abuse
- to understand how the services are used so we can improve them
- to bill you and to send receipts and account notices
- to answer your questions and support requests
- to send product updates you have asked for; you can opt out at any time
- to comply with the law and enforce our terms
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and improving a safe service, your consent where we ask for it, and compliance with legal obligations.
4. How AI processing and training work
Generating results
The services use AI models, including models run by third-party providers, to generate results. To do this, the content you submit and the context needed to respond are sent to those providers. Our agreements with providers require them to use your content only to generate the response for you, to keep it confidential, and not to train their models on it. This applies whatever your settings.
Personalising the services for you
By default, the services learn from your own content to serve you better: remembering your preferences, your style, and the context of your past work. This learning stays within your account. It is not used to change the experience of other users, and it is deleted when you delete the content it came from or your account.
Improving our models and agents
Separately, you can choose to help improve the AI models and agents Zuhanden makes available to all users. This is off until you turn it on.
- How to turn it on or off. Use the "Help improve Zuhanden" setting in the app. It is off by default. You can turn it off at any time, and we stop using new content from you immediately.
- What we use. Content and interactions from your account, after we remove names, contact details, and other direct identifiers where we can find them. We exclude content you have deleted, and we do our best to exclude sensitive categories such as health, financial account, and government identification details.
- What we do with it. Train, fine-tune, evaluate, and improve models and agents that Zuhanden builds or operates. We never give your content to a third party for training its own models.
- Turning it off. Content already used to train a model cannot be removed from that model. Future training runs will not include your content, and you can ask us to delete the copies we hold for training by contacting us.
Review by people
We may review a limited sample of interactions to investigate abuse, safety issues, or a bug you have reported, and only by people who need access for that purpose.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers. We share data only with:
- Service providers that help us run the services, such as AI model providers, cloud hosting, payment processors, email delivery, and error monitoring. They may use your data only to provide their service to us.
- App stores when you buy through one, under their own terms.
- Authorities or other parties when the law requires it, or when necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Zuhanden, our users, or others.
- A successor if Zuhanden is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We will tell you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account and your content for as long as your account exists. When you delete something, it is removed from active systems promptly and from backups within 30 days. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, except where we need to keep some of it for legal, billing, or security reasons. Usage and error data is kept in aggregated or de-identified form.
7. How we protect it
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access inside Zuhanden is limited to people who need it to do their job. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we take it seriously and will tell you if a breach affects you as the law requires.
8. Your choices and rights
You can view and change your account details in the app. You can export your content, and you can delete individual items or your whole account. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete
- delete your data
- restrict or object to certain processing, including for direct marketing
- withdraw consent where processing is based on it
- complain to your local data protection authority
To exercise these rights, use the controls in the app or email hello@zuhanden.ai. We will respond within the time the law requires, usually within 30 days, and we will not treat you differently for exercising a right.
If you live in California, the categories of personal information we collect are described in section 2, and the purposes in section 3. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those allowed by law.
If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the rights above under the GDPR and UK GDPR. You can contact us at the address in section 12 for any request.
9. Where your data goes
Zuhanden LLC is based in Texas, United States, and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer data from the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we rely on safeguards recognised by law, such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.
10. Children
The services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when the current version began.
Questions about your privacy
To ask a question or make a request about your data, use the support page or write to hello@zuhanden.ai. A person will answer.
